Grand Teton National Park spans over 310,000 acres, or 485 square miles, of stunning landscape. Featuring the majestic 40-mile long Teton Range, with its monumental 13,776-foot Grand Teton peak, miles of forestland, and plains, there is a lot of beauty to take in! Whether you're hiking, boating, skiing, or simply just photographing the spectacular views, you'll be blown away by the simple beauty and splendor this park has to offer.

With six different campgrounds, as well as backcountry camping options, there are plenty of opportunities for a phenomenal camping experience! Campsites are first come, first-served, although some campgrounds accept reservations for group camping. Each campground is located at different areas of Grand Teton National Park, and boast their own picturesque views. Backcountry camping is also available, but can only be reserved during certain times during the year, and requires a permit.


If you are planning to stay in your RV, there are a few great choices in Grand Teton! Colter Bay Campground features 335 sites, which are large and easy for RVs to access, with a few electric hookup sites, showers, laundry, and dump station.Beautifully wooded, this campground has spectacular views of the surrounding mountains!


The Headwaters Campground and RV sites at Flagg Ranch is located about five miles north of the boundaries of Grand Teton National Park, but offers 175 large sites with full hookup, laundry, dump station, and laundry. It is beautiful and relaxing and has plenty of gorgeous views!


Gros Ventre Campground is also great for RV camping, with over 300 sites, 36 sites with electric hookups, and trailer dump station. It sits near the Gros Ventre River, and if you manage to get a site close to it, you might be able to catch a glimpse of some moose or other wildlife!

Featuring 242 miles of trails, Grand Teton National Park has numerous captivating pathways to explore! Varying in length, there are many suggested hikes that cater to both novice and experienced hikers. If you're planning on a multiple day hike, you must obtain a backcountry camping permit to stay overnight.


There are a few notable hikes to embark on, varying in length and difficulty. The highly recommended Death Canyon hike features 7.9 round trip miles of forest, lake, and canyon hiking. Featuring beautiful lake vistas and opportunities to view wildlife, it is a truly great experience! Hiking the 10 mile round trip Cascade Canyon hike of the Jenny Lake Trailhead may be a bit strenuous, but definitely worth it! There are plenty of opportunities for glimpses of wildlife, wildflowers, gorgeous views of the mountains, and even a wonderful waterfall! It is undoubtedly one of the most popular hikes of Grant Teton! If you're looking for a bit of an easier and shorter hike, the String Lake Loop hike, only 3.8 miles round trip, on the String Lake Trailhead is perfect! This hike is particularly beautiful in the morning, with spectacular views of the mountains and lakes, and be sure to keep an eye out for the opportunity to view some wildlife!

This beautiful national park has endless possibilities for recreation! You'll be able to go hiking and skiing on the mountains, snowshoeing in the winter, boating and fishing on one of the hundreds of lakes, rafting on the Snake River, and much more! And with miles of extraordinary landscaping, it is the perfect place for photography enthusiasts of all levels!


If you love to ski, there are plenty of choices near Grant Teton! Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Snow King Mountain Resort, and Grand Targhee Mountain Resort all are located outside of Grand Teton National Park but all have great peaks to ski! Inside Grand Teton, cross country skiing is great during the snowy months, with plenty of trail options! If you're into more extreme skiing, it is possible to ski the towering mountain ranges, which should only be attempted by the most experienced skiers.


If you're looking to raft through Grand Teton National Park, there are a few great options to see some of the best views of the park! Solitude Float Trips offers amazing trips down the Snake River, which provides plenty of information on the surrounding terrain, wildlife, and plant life! They also offer a $5 discount per person if you make your reservation online! Another great company to check out is the Barker-Ewing Scenic Float Tips, which features a 10 mile trip, with an abundance of historical and geographical information, as well as amazing views!


You may also bring in your own boat or kayak with a permit, $40 for motorized crafts and $10 for non-motorized crafts. There are plenty of lakes and rivers to choose from, for a great floating experience!

Grand Teton National Park is home to numerous species of plants and animals, who all flourish in their natural habitats! It is not uncommon to come across moose, bison, coyotes, and various types of birds, while others such as wolves and mountain lion sightings are more rare. The National Park Service has many tips about avoiding run-ins with bears, who roam the park. You might spot grizzly and black bears, and must take the measures to contain your food and not disturb these wild animals.

The nearby town of Jackson offers offers relaxing options for your stay! The Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Lodge company features a beautiful 16-hole course with outstanding views of the mountains and wildlife! The Snake River Lodge and Spa, also in Jackson, will allow you to rejuvenate after long hikes and days full of exploration!


About 32 miles west of Grand Teton National Park you will find Driggs, Idaho, which is a small town popularly known for its bustling small-town atmosphere and abundance of activities! With plenty of shops full of unique gifts, restaurants, art and music festivals, hot air balloon rides, and various outdoor activities, you'll find great things to do year round!
