- 2 c. elbow macaroni
- 2 c. water
- 2 tbsp butter
- ¼ tsp salt
- 4 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1-2 tbsp mustard
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 5 oz bag Kettle Brand Jalapeño chips
Instructions:
- Start by building a strong fire and placing around 20 coals in the fire to heat.
- Once the cold or hot, create a small bed of eight for the base of your Dutch oven.
- Add the macaroni, water, butter, and salt to the Dutch oven, and then cover with the lid.
- Place 12 coals on the top of the lid to help heat the ingredients through. Cook for approximately 10 minutes until the pasta is al dente.
- Remove the lid of the Dutch oven with a pair of heat, resistant gloves or tongs and set it aside.
- Carefully stir in the shredded cheese, mustard, and garlic powder until thoroughly combined.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Crush the jalapeño chips to create a crumble for the top of the macaroni. Serve hot.
